A local hospital was the fourth busiest in the country this month. There was a total of 778 patients waiting for a bed at Sligo University Hospital during the month of October. That's according to figures released by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.
University Hospital Limerick was the most overcrowded facility with 1,742 patients waiting on trolleys this month. That's followed by Cork University Hospital with 1,017 and University Hospital Galway with 778. The total number of admitted patients waiting for beds in October was 9,643.
