Sligo University Hospital is urging people with flu-like symptoms not to visit the hospital, as flu cases continue to rise sharply in the community.
The hospital is currently managing two flu outbreaks on separate wards and is treating 27 patients with confirmed flu.
Since the start of the flu season, 193 cases have been confirmed in Sligo, with 56 last week alone.
Eighty people have been hospitalised so far, including 20 last week.
As an infection-control measure, strict visiting restrictions are now in place.
Visiting is limited to direct family only between 6 and 8pm, and children should not visit adult wards.
Wards with active flu outbreaks will allow visits on compassionate grounds only.
If you have symptoms such as fever, aches, sore throat or cough, you're asked to postpone your visit for at least 48 hours after symptoms clear.
