A local hospital was the third busiest in the country this month.
There was a total of 740 patients waiting for a bed at Sligo University Hospital during the month of November.
That's according to figures released by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.
November's figures are a sharp rise on 2024's figure of 626.
Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar also saw a strong increase in 12 months going from 109 to 180 this year.
University Hospital Limerick was the most overcrowded facility with 1,273 patients waiting on trolleys this month.
University Hospital Galway follows that with 925.
The total number of admitted patients waiting for beds in November was 9,063.]
