Local driver among those caught speeding over bank holiday period

A motorist in Co. Longford was caught speeding by Gardaí over the bank holiday weekend.

Gardaí say they carried out an extensive Roads Policing Operation from last Thursday until today.

They say they detected a driver travelling at 137km/h in an 80km/h zone at Knockagowny.

Almost 4,000 motorists were detected for speeding across the country during the operation.
