Local councillors have delayed approval of the planned Drumshanbo Town Junction Upgrade scheme in order to allow for a revised workshop on the project. The Part 8 proposal involves junction tightening and pedestrian priority works at six locations across the town. At this month's meeting of the Ballinamore MD, members said additional engagement was needed before a final decision is made on the traffic and public realm plans.
The delay would give councillors an opportunity to review updated details and raise further concerns with officials and local stakeholders. Cllr Enda McGloin highlighted the need for a "balancing act" to address pedestrian safety and the increased traffic in the area:
