A local councillor says the development of a new town park is a good news story for Ballaghaderreen. Sinn Féin councillor Michael Mulligan believes the new project, proposed by Roscommon County Council, is badly needed. Among the facilities to be developed at the site are a children's active recreation area, outdoor exercise equipment and a plaza-style skate park.
The new park will also include grassed areas and a wildflower meadow, aged-friendly seating, and soft landscaping including trees, shrubs, hedging, and flowers. Speaking to Shannonside News, Cllr Mulligan said the park will have something for all ages:
