There are serious road-safety concerns in north Roscommon because of increased traffic on minor roads recently. It's due to the Tulsk to Boyle road being closed until late August because of the upgrade of the N5. Diversions are in place - but lots of drivers are choosing to use very minor roads instead, including around Elphin. Local Fianna Fáil councillor Sean Moylan says this is very dangerous:
