A north Roscommon councillor believes Aldi will get planning permission for a new store in Boyle - despite 'serious concerns' being raised.
The German giant wants to build the supermarket in Patrick Street, and the council will decide on the application later this month.
The owners of a historic mansion nearby, called Frybrook House, are worried about the impact it will have on the property.
In a submission, they say it would potentially destroy its views, create noise problems, and affect their B&B business.
The Historic Houses of Ireland raised concerns also - but Councillor Tom Crosby believes Aldi will get the go-ahead:
