Leitrim County Council is being urged to ensure a planned hostel in Carrick-on-Shannon can't become a refugee centre. A planning application has been submitted for a 72-room hostel in Flynn's Field. It would accommodate up to 244 guests, which the applicants say would be tourists. Fintan Cox has a pharmacy right beside the site - he says he has concerns about the development:
