A local councillor says time is of the essence in providing a temporary solution at Lough Funshinagh. Independent Councillor Laurence Fallon was reacting to news that a planning application would be made this week. Taoiseach Simon Harris confirmed Roscommon County Council will submit it to An Bord Pleanála before Friday.
It follows concerns locally that it had not been lodged by the end of last month, as planned. Cllr Fallon says substantial work has been carried out in order to prepare the planning application. Speaking to Shannonside News, he said it was now important that a decision is made quickly:
