Speed-limit changes on some roads in Co Roscommon are being described as "absolute madness". They'll drop from 80 kilometres an hour to 60 on Friday, on rural local roads throughout the country.
There are very few exceptions - with the old N5 the only one staying at 80 in Co Roscommon. The reductions are designed to cut road deaths, but Rahara councillor Laurence Fallon is critical of some of the changes:
