Local ambulance staff say yesterday was a step in the right direction in solving an ongoing dispute over pay.
SIPTU and Unite trade unions have agreed to stand down a planned 48-hour strike by frontline ambulance staff next week.
The unions attended exploratory talks at the Labour Court yesterday afternoon.
A work-to-rule by ambulance staff, which started on Monday, will remain in place.
There are also plans for a 72-hour work stoppage later this month.

He says staff want to be recognised for the work they do:
