Lives at risk over lack of paramedics in Roscommon - Kerrane

She's calling on the Government to honour a commitment made by Fine Gael following the closure of Roscommon A&E in 2011.

A fall in the number of advanced paramedics has become a 'life and death situation' in Co Roscommon.

That's according to Sinn Féin TD Claire Kerrane, who says the National Ambulance Service has suspended training for such roles.

She's calling on the Government to honour a commitment made by Fine Gael following the closure of Roscommon A&E in 2011.

Speaking in the Dáil, she said the county had ten fewer advanced paramedics than it had five years ago:
