LISTEN: President's wife says she's 'horrified' by Palestine crisis as she joins Strokestown walk

Sabina told Shannonside FM why she came to Roscommon to join the walkers.

Sabina Higgins, President Michael D Higgins' wife, visited Co Roscommon this morning to join a walk for Palestine.

Around 100 people gathered outside Strokestown Park House for the start of the event.

The Boyle Palestine Solidarity Group are walking from Strokestown to Dublin over the course of eight days.

They're walking along the National Famine Way, in solidarity with the people of Palestine.

Indeed, Sabina Higgins joined them for the start of the walk, which was launched by Jim Callery, the founder of the National Famine Museum.

Sabina told our reporter Eoghan Murphy why she came to Roscommon to join the walkers:
