Sinn Féin TD Martin Kenny insists there is a homelessness crisis in his constituency.
Local TDs laid bare the extent of the housing crisis during a discussion on the state's housing plan in the Dáil.
Deputy Kenny said urgent action is needed in his constituency in Sligo-Leitrim.
He said big efforts are being made by the local authority, but there simply is not enough homeless accommodation to deal with the crisis.
He said the state needs to provide its own homelessness accommodation.
