Liam Callaghan to become Roscommon Cathaoirleach later today

His late dad, Tom, was the first citizen of Roscommon in 1996 and 1997. 

Fine Gael councillor Liam Callaghan will follow in his dad's footsteps today by becoming the Cathaoirleach of Roscommon County Council. He'll take over from Paschal Fitzmaurice when the local authority meets this afternoon. While Fianna Fáil councillor John Keogh will become Leas Cathaoirleach. Councillor Callaghan will hold the role for one year and will be paid €20,000.

Liam's late dad, Tom, was the first citizen of Roscommon in 1996 and 1997.  Independent councillor Tom Crosby welcomes today's appointment:
