A social housing tenant in Co Leitrim is facing a 12-fold increase in her monthly rent bill.
Sinn Fein councillor Roisin Kenny raised the woman's plight at a Leitrim County Council meeting.
Those who qualify for social housing can get the Housing Assistance Payment to rent privately - while they wait for a council house.
Councillor Kenny says the HAP limits are too low in Leitrim, ranging from €340 for a single person to €675 for a family with three kids.
