Leitrim is the only county in Ireland without a special school

A local councillor says students are being forced to attend schools as far away as Fermanagh.

Leitrim is the only county in Ireland that doesn't have a special school. Sinn Féin councillor and Mohill Community College prinicipal, Cormac Flynn, raised the issue at a Leitrim County Council meeting this week.

He says some Leitrim kids are going to special schools in neighbouring counties, including Fermanagh. Councillor Flynn says the government needs to finally deliver a special school for Leitrim:
