People living in and around Mohill are being encouraged to look at plans which are going on display from today to enhance the main street of the town.
The Part 8 Public Notice has been issued by Leitrim County Council and will include works on widening footpaths, enhancing pedestrian crossings, new street lighting, modifications to the front boundary of St Mary's Church, and a vertical landscape feature at the Butter market.

The plans are available to inspect at the council offices in Carrick-on-Shannon for just over a month until the 28th of October, and anyone who wants to make a submission must do so by the 11th of November.
Local councillor Thomas Mulligan says businesspeople on the Main Street in the town should make sure they go and see the plans or access them on the council's website.
He says he would have preferred that there was more time to debate the proposals:
