Leitrim Councillor hopes Budget will tackle rising costs for small business owners

The Budget is just over six weeks away now.

A Leitrim Councillor is hopeful the government will include measures to alleviate the cost of living crisis for everyone in next month's Budget.

Charities and interest groups are currently publishing pre-budget submissions ahead of the 20203 announcement which takes place on Tuesday the 27th of September.

Paddy O'Rourke believes that businesses, and especially small firms, need to be given some relief in order to cope with rising costs for energy and fuel

Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show, he feels the Government needs to be more pro-active to tackle inflation :

"Many of the people who have been crippled by the rising furl rates and energy rates, particularly over the last six months will not be in a position, many of them run small businesses and they won't be in receipt of social welfare so something needs to be done for them."
