Leitrim County Council has been urged to review its procedures for nominating candidates in future presidential elections.
Cllr Enda McGloin raised the issue at yesterday's nomination seeking meeting, with 13 outlining their case to members.
A candidate must receive the backing of four local authorities to become eligible to take part in the election.
