Leitrim Council urged not to grant one-off casual trading licences

A Fine Gael councillor brought forward a motion ahead of a busy festival in Drumshanbo.

A Leitrim councillor is calling on the local authority not to grant any occasional or one-off casual trading licences in Drumshanbo during a busy festival this summer. Fine Gael Cllr Enda McGloin brought forward a motion to yesterday's Ballinamore Muncipal District meeting.

The 35th Joe Mooney Summer School takes place from the 19th to the 26th July in Drumshanbo. Cllr McGloin says local businesses shouldn't have to contend with extra competitors during one of the busiest weeks of the year:
