St Patrick's Day visits to the US are important for diplomacy.
That's according to Cathaoirleach of Leitrim County Council, Paddy Farrell, who is set to make the trip on Thursday.
He will be meeting Tourism Ireland and the IDA during his time in New York, as well as attending a Leitrim GAA event and annual dinner dance.
