Large crowds gathered at The Hub in Castlerea on Tuesday evening to toast the town's latest boxing world champion. Aoife O'Rourke became only the sixth Irish boxer in history to win world championship gold on Sunday, joining younger sister Lisa, who did so three years ago.
The local Castlerea brass and reed brand led the sisters to the boxing gym at the facility where they were met with rapturous applause and welcome. Speaking to Shannonside FM, Aoife and Lisa outlined their delight:
