Landowners urged to cut overgrown hedges

Hedge-cutting is banned between the 1st of March and 31st of August to allow birds and wildlife to nest and take shelter.

The Road Safety Authority says overgrown hedges and tree branches need to be cut back by the end of the month.

The RSA and the County and City Management Association are reminding farmers and landowners of their responsibilities to trim and maintain hedgerows by the end of February.
