The Shannonside region has been highlighted for a lack in refuges for victims of domestic violence.
Sinn Féin Senator Pauline Tully told the Seanad that the local area needs more funding to be allocated towards better refuge for affected women and children.
Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon were mentioned in a collection of counties without a refuge space for domestic violence victims.
