Labour calls for outright ban on gambling advertisements

The Government's new rules will impose a nightly ban between half five and nine o'clock, but Labour say it's not enough.

A call has been made for an outright ban on ads that promote gambling.

The Labour Party wants the Government to adopt a bill to end the ads on all media outlets.

But Labour Senator Mark Wall wants it to be 24/7 to end the non-stop bombardment of gambling ads:

'We're not against gambling and gambling will continue because everyone knows were they can go.

But we don't need these incessant gambling ads coming at us 24/7.

We want to get back to enjoying sport again. there's not a sporting occasion now that your influenced or attempted to be influenced by a gambling ad.

That's not acceptable.'
