The veneration of a local priest could lead to an increase in visitors to a visitor centre in Ballymoe.
Fr Edward Flanagan grew up in a townland just outside the Galway village before joining the priesthood.
He is best known for establishing Boystown in Omaha, Nebraska and his support of young people.
The Fr Edward Flanagan Visitor Centre was established three years ago to honour him.
