The Junior Transport Minister says he wants to fast-track the long-awaited bypass of Carrick-on-Shannon. It's due to go to planning by the end of this year and be finished around 2030.
It will involve a 6-kilometre bypass of Carrick, from the Dublin Road to the Boyle Road. Minister of State Sean Canney says major capital projects are taking too long - and he wants the Carrick project speeded up:
