Junior Minister says she supports plans for primary care centre in Ballaghaderreen

Minister Jennifer Murnane O'Connor visited the town yesterday where she met with public representatives and local groups.

The Minister with responsibility for Public Health and Wellbeing says she'll support plans for a new primary care centre in Ballaghaderreen. Minister Jennifer Murnane O'Connor visited the town yesterday where she met with public representatives and local groups. Her comments come just days after the HSE published an advertisement seeking a suitable site for the building The health facility was first proposed by the then Government back in 2012.

It has suffered a number of delays since then, however, most recently in February when a developer withdrew from the project. The HSE has since been accused of not doing enough to speed up the process. Minister Murnane O'Connor said the people she met had impressed on her the importance of the facility:
