Carrick-on-Shannon will be hoping to retain the overall prize they won last year.

Judging season is under way in the SuperValu TidyTowns competition.

Carrick-on-Shannon will be hoping to retain the overall prize they won last year.

Judging takes place in June, July and August every year - with the winner to be announced in October.

Keadue was the county winner in Roscommon last year.

The village's TidyTowns secretary, Paraic Noone, says they've put a lot of work in again this year:
