Fine Gael Roscommon Councillor John Naughten is being described as "a great community person."
He passed away on Friday and was due to stand for Fine Gael in the upcoming general election.
Roscommon Galway TD Michael Fitzmaurice says John had "a real passion for doing good in his community." Deputy Fitzmaurice is paying this tribute to him:
