Storm Éowyn caused destruction and power outages across the Shannonside region.

Among the worst areas was the Shannonside region with some homes, farms and businesses without power for over three weeks.

The clean-up operation from Storm Éowyn locally could be set to continue into 2027.

Among the worst areas was the Shannonside region with some homes, farms and businesses without power for over three weeks.

Coillte have now stated that ongoing work will take longer than originally forecast.

It estimates a total of 50 million trees were blown over or damaged during the storm, with around 20 per cent of its trees recovered so far.
