A Leitrim Councillor is calling on the local authority to write to Irish Rail to strongly object to any plans to bypass smaller stations.
Independent Councillor Irene Guckian Rabbitte is bringing forward a motion to next weeks Carrick on Shannon Municipal District meeting regarding the issue.
She says a councillor in a neighbouring county suggested bypassing smaller stations like Dromod to speed up travel times to Dublin.
