Investigation to be launched into Ballyforan match incident

A full investigation is to be launched into an incident which saw a referee injured during a minor championship match in Roscommon.

The ambulance service were called to the pitch in Ballyforan on Wednesday evening where the referee sought medical attention and the game was subsequently abandoned.

In a statement to Shannonside FM Roscommon GAA say they strongly condemn any behaviour that puts any officials at risk and they have wished the referee a speedy recovery.

They say the Competitions Control Committee will commence a full investigation into the incident.
