A Garda investigation has been launched after bags of excrement were allegedly thrown at two politicians at a meeting in Galway last night.
Minister of State for Disability Anne Rabbitte and Fine Gael TD Ciaran Cannon tweeted about the incident, which occurred at a public meeting in Gort.
Gardaí say they are "investigating all the circumstances" relating to the incident.
