An investigation is continuing into an alleged assault in Athlone.
The incident happened in the Magazine Road area of the town on Wednesday evening.
Two men, one aged in his 30s and another in his 40s, received medical treatment for a number of injuries.
No arrests have been made and Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
