A driving instructor says people are likely to flock to test centres in Carrick-on-Shannon to avoid waiting weeks for their test locally.
It comes as the waiting time for a driving test in two Shannonside centres has reached the target of less than 10 weeks.
The wait in Roscommon is eight weeks, while it's nine weeks in Carrick-on-Shannon.
However the wait time in Longford is worse than the national average, at 19 weeks.
Carrick driving instructor and former tester Bernie Mulvihill Farrell says this is resulting in people opting to take their test outside their local area.
