An inquest has returned an open verdict in the death of a man in a bog hole in Castlerea.
The 64-year-old man was reported missing the day before his body was found.
This inquest in Ballaghaderreen heard details of the death of Tom Keane, who lived alone in Castlehill in Castlerea.
He was reported missing on October 29th, 2024, after he was not seen at home.
This led to a missing person search.

The inquest heard the following morning, at around 11am, his body was found by gardai in a five-foot bog hole in Shankoagh, Castlerea.
He was fully clothed, was lying face down, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The inquest heard his car was found abandoned nearby and his dog was barking beside it.
Mr Keane had a dog leash at the time of his death.
Pathologist Anne Marie Quinn said he died from drowning, likely on October 29th, and Coroner Brian O'Connor returned an open verdict.
