There has been an increase in the number of people attending Sunday Mass, according to the outgoing Bishop of Achonry.
Paul Dempsey celebrated his final Mass in Ballaghaderreen yesterday, where he was presented with departing gifts.
He has been the parish priest in the west Roscommon for the past four years, as well as the Bishop of Achonry.

He is moving to Dublin to become an Auxiliary Bishop - but says the Church is in a healthy state in the west.
