'Common sense must prevail' to prevent sheep-worrying incidents.
That's according to the Chair of the IFA's National Sheep Committee, Adrian Gallagher, who has been speaking following the killing of thirty sheep in a field outside Longford Town.
A Longford farmer was alerted about the incident when one of his sheep was spotted badly injured on a road near his farm.
Out of a total of 65 sheep, 30 were killed - of which 21 were ewes - and eight have been receiving veterinary attention since the incident on Friday afternoon.
It's been confirmed two dogs were responsible for the attack, with nearly 15 sheep still missing from his field.
