Hundreds still without power across the Shannonside region following Storm Amy

Nationally, around 49,000 customers are still without power.

Hundreds of homes, farms and businesses across Roscommon and Leitrim remain without electricity this afternoon following last night’s strong winds and heavy rain brought by Storm Amy.

Nationally, around 49,000 customers are still without power.

ESB Networks crews have been working throughout the day to restore supply, with most customers expected to be reconnected by tomorrow night.

Donegal, Leitrim, Roscommon, Galway and Mayo are among the worst affected counties.

ESB is reminding the public to stay clear of fallen or damaged electricity wires and to report any hazards on esbpowercheck.ie or by calling 1800 372 999.
