Hundreds of people gathered in Boyle this morning for the start of the Irish Hot Air Ballooning Championships.
The event finally got under way in the past hour in Lough Key Forest Park, after three flights were cancelled over the weekend because of high winds.
Around 20 balloons have taken to the sky, including participants from the US, the UK and other countries.
Two flights a day will be held until Friday, at 7am and 5pm.
