There's a strong demand for tests at a drive-thru centre in Castlerea

The HSE in the west of Ireland has recorded a 20% increase in the number of people presenting for Covid tests across Roscommon, Galway and Mayo in recent weeks.

Health officials are noting a strong demand for tests at a drive-thru centre in Castlerea which has opened today and will remain open to test children and adults until next Tuesday.

There is growing concern at community transmission across the country - with many people who tested positive in Ballinasloe earlier this month surprised to find they has contracted the disease. as they did not show any symptoms.
