The Department of Health has disputed that Ireland currently has the third highest Covid-19 death rate in Europe.
The 'Our World in Data' findings based on the country's Covid-19 Data Hub found Ireland reported 2.21 Covid related deaths per million people.
But the department says of the 77 Covid deaths reported on the 1st of June, 69 per cent occurred in April.

In a statement, they highlighted that 'Our World in Data' only included deaths which were notified, with not all deaths occuring on the exact date.
