HSE confirms occupational therapist has commenced employment at Longford Primary Care Centre

Local TD Micheál Carrigy welcomed the news, saying it will be a 'positive development' for patients and families who have been experiencing 'long waiting lists and service delays.'

The HSE has confirmed a Staff Grade Occupational Therapist has commenced employment at St. Joseph's Primary Care Centre in Longford.
According to the HSE, the postholder took up duty on the 23rd of March.

Local TD Micheál Carrigy welcomed the news, saying it will be a 'positive development' for patients and families who have been experiencing 'long waiting lists and service delays.'
He continued: “However, it is not acceptable that gaps in healthcare staffing have been allowed to persist for so long in Longford. These shortages have resulted in long wait times and prolonged interim measures, which place unnecessary strain on individuals and families.”
The Fine Gael politician says that while the approval is welcome, there has been no update to date on the progress of the recruitment process.
He says he will continue engaging with the HSE to ensure this process advances 'efficiently' and 'delivers the full service Longford needs and deserves.'
