HSE confirms Longford physiotherapy service to remain in town

Locals had expressed their dismay at the news that the service could potentially have been transferred away from the town to Athlone or Mullingar.

It has been confirmed that the physiotherapy service in Longford Town is set to remain on St. Joseph's Campus.
Its current premises will house the service temporarily while works are carried out on a different location on the campus.
Locals had expressed their dismay at the news that the service could potentially have been transferred away from the town to Athlone or Mullingar.

Following extensive campaigning by TD Micheál Carrigy and councillors Peggy Nolan and Paul Ross, the HSE confirmed the service is set to remain in the town.
It is expected that the switch to the new location will occur in August.
Deputy Micheál Carrigy has been welcoming the news:
