Uisce Éireann has announced a six-week hosepipe ban in parts of Westmeath, Meath and Donegal due to historically low water levels.
From next Tuesday, the Water Conservation Order will affect Mullingar, Milford, and the Kells-Oldcastle areas.
It follows seven months of significantly below-average rainfall, with reservoirs like Lough Owel and Lough Bane now at their lowest levels in decades.
The ban will remain in place until June 16th.
Margaret Attridge is head of water operations at Uisce Éireann.
