Gardaí have received a report of theft of home heating oil in Co. Leitrim.
The theft occurred at a residence in the Drumcong and Drumshanbo area.
Gardaí in Carrick-on-Shannon are advising the public to secure their fuel tanks.
They're also urging people to install sensor lighting to illuminate the area where the tank is located, use anti-snap locks on tanks and monitor them with CCTV.
