Holiday makers warned of potentially dangerous conditions on waterways tomorrow

The high winds forecast tomorrow could lead to some very choppy conditions even on inland lakes across Roscommon and Leitrim

Holiday makers in the Shannonside region are being warned to avoid water activity where possible tomorrow.

A status yellow wind warning will be in place across north west and western coastal counties.

Head of Forecasting with Met Eireann, Evelyn Cusack, has described the expected conditions as unseasonably windy with gusts of up to 90 kilometres per hour.

She says they'll also be issuing warnings for some of the land areas with the strong winds impacting on lakes and rivers in the region.
